Breastfeed Tracking

When BabyLatch was being designed, we wanted to make it more than just a timer. Instead we wanted it to help, support and inform you, so we went back to the days that we were breastfeeding to think about the challenges that we had and what could have helped.

Timers that remember

Even if you’ve breastfed before, at the beginning, each of you is learning. Your little one is learning how to latch and feed; you’re learning their cues and positions that make it easier for both of you. While getting into your joint feeding routine, it’s helpful to understand how your little one is feeding, so when you start a breastfeed with BabyLatch not only does it record when the feed started and how long they fed, but also how long they fed on which side. You may find that they feed longer on one side more than the other, which could be due to positioning, which you can then try to tweak.

Easy to switch sides

If your little one decides to change sides, which could be because they are super hungry or just fancy a change, or be nosy, then with a simple tap you can switch sides in BabyLatch. Since the buttons are large and central, it’s even easy to do one handed.

Mothers breastfeeding twins and multiples

Breastfeeding twins and multiples is at another level (we salute you!) and we wanted to make it as easy as possible for you. With BabyLatch, whenever you need to choose a child for say a breastfeed or a feed from your milk stash, you’ll see each of their animal avatars. Simply tap on their animal and then do what you need to do. It’s that simple. There’s no need to switch child profiles or other convoluted ways to get to the child you need.

Designed to be used with one hand

In designing the app’s layout and access to features we wanted to make it as easy as possible with one hand, afterall, the chances are you’ll have your little one in your other arm making it difficult to use that hand. It sounds obvious, but we see so many apps that have lots of features, which are in hard to reach places or hidden away.

With BabyLatch we made buttons like the breastfeed and collection big and central, so they’re easy to reach with a thumb. Key screens are easily accessible from the navigation bar that’s along the bottom.

Reminders of which side is next, so you don’t need to think

BabyLatch remembers which side your last breastfeed or collection was and so it intelligently suggests the next side to use. This is really useful to know, especially when you’re starting out and establishing your routines.

Track up to 4 children

BabyLatch can track breastfeeding or feeding from your milk stash for up to 4 children at any one time or over a period of years, which could be 4 siblings born years apart, twins, triplets, or quadruplets, or combinations of them.
